New Web Design Packages
By William R. Muench

Genesistems is happy to announce the creation of a new series of web design packages to meet your commercial needs. Designed in light of tightening budgets and the desire for simplicity, we now offer four different web design packages and two support plans. Whether you need a single static web page to advertise your services and provide contact information or a corporate site with a dozen pages, we can meet your needs.

The way the new packages work is very simple. First choose the web design package that meets your needs: Basic, Small Business, Medium Business, or Corporate. All plans include the scanning of logos and photos, as well as one year of hosting. Then choose the billing plan that fits your needs. We have two billing plans available, and each has its strengths.

The Balanced Billing Plan is the most economical and offers the greatest savings. If you need to make monthly updates to your website, this plan is the way to go. The plan includes 15 hours of support over a one-year span at a rate of $40 an hour. We then bill this at $50 a month so that you can spread your expenses out rather than making one large payment. On top of being billed at a lower hourly rate, we’ll also give you a $200 discount on the package cost! So if you buy a small business package and sign up for the balanced billing plan, it will only cost you $1,000 instead of $1,200!

However, if you don’t think that you will require many updates during the year, the Non-Balanced Billing Plan may be a better fit for you. Whenever you need an update you will be billed at a rate of $50 an hour. This saves you money unless you need more than 12 hours of support a year. Finally, we can register your domain name, set it up on our servers with a permanent IP address, and provide you with personalized email addresses and email forwarding.

We hope that this new pricing structure will meet your needs and help you achieve your web presence goal. If you have any questions or would like to set up a meeting to discuss your needs, please call Mark at (585) 475-9180 x210, or please email us at support@neonexus.com.

Please note that these prices only apply to new web pages, not to existing ones. For costs on second year hosting, please contact us at the number listed above.

Steps to Maintain Your Investment
By Mark Harrison

Electricity is the lifeblood of a computer. Make sure that static is reduced by keeping the PC off the floor. It is also helpful to have a static remover nearby. Especially in the dry winter season, spraying a bit of water/fabric softener on the carpeting will keep static at bay.

Lastly, the power coming in to your house or office is not very “clean”. The hidden power surges and spikes that the power company delivers to your house will damage all electronics over time. This includes appliances, stereo equipment, computer equipment, and so forth. Consider investing in heavy duty protection, such as APC’s, Surge Protectors, or a UPS. Remember, that outlet strip with the “fuse” you bought at the discount store will not protect your equipment. It simply gives you the ability to plug more things in.
