Welcome Back
From Eric Muench, President

I would like to welcome you to the re-incarnation of “Sistem News”, our customer newsletter. Although we talk to customers often during the course of business, many times we forget to mention items of interest to you. We are targeting this newsletter to all our customers and will try to supply information on hardware, software and telephony in each issue. This first issue is being delivered in printed form. We invite you to send us an e-mail address and we will use it to send you electronic copies in the future, saving time and resources. As with all the information Genesistems receives from customers this e-mail address will be held in strict confidence and only be used to send you information directly from Genesistems. We hope you enjoy this issue. If you are interested in electronic delivery of this newsletter, send your e-mail address to info@genesistems.com. If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the newsletter they can also be sent to that address.

What's New in Telephony
From David Levine

Genesistems is your authorized dealer for both AltiGen and BIZFON telephone solutions! Our objective is to keep our customers informed of new software and hardware upgrades and additions. Both manufacturers add new features to their software that can improve your firm’s sales, customer service, company efficiency, productivity, and more.

Some of AltiGen’s new features you may want to upgrade to are:

AltiView – Using Microsoft Outlook, Act or Goldmine all customer information is displayed via a “screen pop” when a customer calls. You can also point and click to dial, call forward, call transfer, conference and more.

Save the cost of installing an additional AltiGen switch by using VoIP and IP Phones to connect remote workers or remote small offices. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is a way of making FREE phone calls over the Internet.

AltiWeb – Click a “contact us” button on your website and have a phone ring in your office. Your customer speaks with a live agent who can share web pages. Great for sales, support, and customer service. AltiWeb integrates with AltiGen Center 4.0 for basic desktop support of incoming calls for users, agents and supervisors. Center 4.0 is a Call Center application that allows for, among many other features, “silent monitoring” of employees with the ability of supervisors to break into calls for quality assurance and training purposes.

Genesistems can upgrade your software with minimal system downtime. Should you have any questions or issues you would like to discuss, please contact us. By gathering the information needed, e.g., what software release is operating your system; we can make the proper suggestions to yield the desired results.

We at Genesistems appreciate your continued trust and support. Our aim is not just the sale…but to build an ongoing and productive relationship with you, our customers. We believe in the 3 R’s: “Respect, Response and Relationship”.

Hardware Hints: Easy Overhead Paging
From Rick Rekkerth

If you plan to install overhead paging, AltiGen recommends the Valcom system. The speaker system uses low powered DC voltage while providing high output. Speakers can range from weather tight bull horns to ceiling speakers with volume control.

Connecting the paging system to the AltiGen System is either done through the Analog 4x8 Quantum Cards or on a station (extension) port on the Triton cards. Paging on the Quantum 4x8 can be done through the built in paging port to an amplifier (one zone paging only) or via either a trunk or extension port for one or more zone paging. You just need to remember that if paging is done via one of the trunk or extension ports, you will lose one port for an outside line or one extension for a phone (depending on method used).

In order to connect the station port to the Valcom page port you will need a Valcom Station Level Access Unit. Once the units are installed, paging is handled by dialing the extension number of the assigned paging port.
